Communication Arts
-
The Communication Arts Division of Yorkville High School believes that the ability to communicate is one of the most essential skills for success beyond high school. In order to do so effectively, one must be able to read for both understanding and inference, write for diverse purposes, speak in a variety of situations, and listen actively. In each required English class, all four of these skills are addressed according to Common Core standards and stressed through reading, writing, discussion, classroom activities, and formative and summative assessments.
