Mr. Heinekamp joined the Yorkville High School Music Department in 2024. Before teaching at YHS he was the band director and district music coordinator at Sandwich High School for 14 years.

In addition to serving YHS as the Music Division Chair, Mr. Heinekamp conducts the Yorkville Marching Foxes, Pep Band, and Jazz Band.

Mr. Heinekamp earned a Bachelors of Music Education from Western Illinois University and a Masters in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music.

Mr. Heinekamp loves spending time with his wife and two children and in his free time enjoys practicing trumpet and drum set, composing, and reading.
